Wolf in Sheep's Clothing?

Elizabeth is sweet as can be...

But, if you get on her bad side like this giraffe, she'll do this to your neck, too!

A Work in Progress

I'm not sure if we really shared any photos of Elizabeth's room, so I thought I'd finally post some. This weekend we actually put a couple of nails in our beautiful stripes and hung some decorations (it only took us 6 months, right?).

BEFORE: Notice that BJ is goofing off, but the pregnant woman is hard at work...

AFTER:

BJ refinished the dresser himself. It looks great - this is what he started with...

Feed Me

Yesterday (22nd) was not only Daniel's birthday, but Elizabeth's 5 month birthday. In honor of her birthday, we gave her a rice cereal "cake." We didn't know what to expect from Elizabeth's first attempt with solid foods, but we should have known...she loved it! Some people told us that many babies have problems at first, but Elizabeth acted like a pro. And, when the serving was gone, she wanted more! From the mess we made with a little rice cereal, we know it's going to be a lot of fun once we get into the fruits and veggies.

Elizabeth Goes to Washington

On Friday, we attempted to take Elizabeth in to the DC for the Dayton basketball game. Unfortunately, she didn't like all of the loud noise, so mom and Elizabeth turned around and came home. Before leaving the city, we snapped a couple of photos. She just wanted to lay around and watch the game, I guess.

Go Dayton Flyers!

Elizabeth says "yea, I get to go home! I won!"

Elizabeth: "What, I just wanted to play and watch the game - can you blame me?"

Bath Time!

When Elizabeth started daycare, we decided to start giving her a nightly bath as part of her routine. She's come a long way since crying through her first baths in the sink. She loves her baths. She especially loves reading her bath books that her Great Aunt Melanie and Uncle Gary gave her (Daisy Duck and Splish Splash - let us tell you, they're great reads!). She's also getting better at grabbing her rubber ducky and turtle that Lindsay gave her...mostly she likes to put them in her mouth, though. Lately, she has been really fascinated with water pouring out of her shampoo cup. She likes to grab at the water as it pours from the cup - we think she's trying to catch it.

Thank you, Elizabeth!

This is a tribute to our wonderful baby girl who gave us LOTS of sleep this weekend. It's amazing what a little sleep will do for the mind and body! It's nice having a baby that isn't sick or overly congested (we barely know what that's like). She was also very playful and happy this weekend, so we had a lot of fun.

Selection Sunday

Elizabeth back in November at the beginning of basketball season. Looks like she has low expectations for the Flyers.

Tonight after the Flyers were selected for the Big Dance Elizabeth looked a little more excited. She expects the Flyers to go all the way!

Who Does Elizabeth Favor?

Our lives are so much better with Elizabeth. It's an amazing thing to watch something so small grow and develop. Already, Elizabeth is playful (she loves for us to play with her), social (she loves to be talked to by anyone), stubborn (not sure where she gets that, maybe her mom since I noticed that exact word was used in my baby book) and lately she is frustrated easily (whenever we give her toys she gets frustrated that she can't put the entire toy in her mouth). The best time of day is probably in the morning when she first wakes up - she is all smiles. This morning, she was laughing and playing on the changing table - she was grabbing and reaching her little feet with her hands. Each week is something new. Oh yea, she also enjoys spitting up and long walks on the beach (or at least she will once she goes to a beach).

Home, Home, Home to Ohio

Great Grandma's "Sweeties"

Grandpa and Jacob having some fun

Three Generations

A couple of weeks ago, we went back to pay our respect to a very dear family friend. It was an unfortunate occasion, but it did give our family an unexpected opportunity to see Elizabeth. They couldn't believe how much she had grown! We'll be looking forward to seeing Grandma and Grandpa on their way back from Florida in April and hopefully Greg, Jen, Jacob and Ally this spring or summer in DC!

American's Next Top Baby Model

Here are Elizabeth's 3 month professional (well, as professional as JC Penny is!) photos...is she going to appreciate the naked pictures later? It was a trick at 3 months finding the right timing between eating and sleeping, but we managed to get a couple of cute shots!
