All the Pretty Babies

After I first had Elizabeth, I was very fortunate to meet some great women with babies just around the same age. We have continued to keep in touch and meet up (the lucky stay at home mommies still meet weekly). This past weekend, some of the families met up for dinner and it's so much fun to see how everyone is growing!

December, I think - Elizabeth is the one on the right in the middle row (eyes wide open should be a give away)

April 2009 - they've come a long way! Elizabeth is in the front eyes still wide open. I wish we would have had a video recorder for the "photo shoot" because it was funny trying to get them all set up for the picture. Then, of course we were making noises and faces trying to get them to look/smile at the camera.

Solids Part 3: Carrots

Orange foods are way ahead of the green foods!

Bathing Beauty

We had our first waterbabies class this weekend. Unfortunately, Elizabeth didn't completely enjoy it. I think she was a little overwhelmed by the water and something new. I guess it also didn't help that the first activity involved dunking the babies under water. We've got 5 more classes, so hopefully she warms up a little more. At least she looked good, right?

Happy Half Birthday to You...

We found out that Elizabeth likes frosting...I guess it runs in the family

Solids Part 2: Avocados

The photos speak for themselves (and we thought Elizabeth would eat anything!)

How much is that baby in the window?

Solids Part 1: Sweet Potatoes

I decided to attempt to make Elizabeth's baby food. The first run with sweet potatoes was a success. She had her 4th serving tonight and never left a drop! Thank you, Magic Bullet. Tomorrow, it's on to avocado.

The anticipation is almost too much to handle.

Mmmm...Elizabeth likes sweet potatoes!

Hoppy Easter

This year, Elizabeth couldn't participate in an Easter hunt or even appreciate her visit from the Easter bunnies (thanks grandparents!), but she did get into the spirit. Many people at church told us how cute she looked and one little boy told us he "loved her eyes." This Easter we are so thankful to have this sweet baby girl!

Vote for Elizabeth

Despite the weather, we made it to DC on Saturday to see some of the sights.

(Elizabeth outside the gates of the White House) If I were president, I would...

Preserve the national monuments...

Lobby for thumb sucking to the Olympic Committee...

And, finally, mandate that tulips become the national flower...

Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

Over Easter weekend, we had a fun visit from Lindsay, Alan, Braiden and Alexus. They arrived from Ohio on Friday and we went to the zoo. The weather was perfect. Elizabeth shared her first metro ride with our visitors, too!

Elizabeth did really well being on the go and took a couple of naps along the way. The roar of the animals didn't seem to bother her beauty rest. Thank goodness she likes the action because we like to stay active ourselves.

Family Photo

Hiking to the Falls

We took Elizabeth on her first hike. We went to the tallest falls in Maryland (it's north of Frederick). She had fun and the fresh air was good for all of us!

Visiting with Grandma and Grandpa

The Shoemakers came to town this past weekend for a nice visit. We stayed busy with Elizabeth running here and there and she was wonderful! Elizabeth loves the action and being on the go.

Elizabeth is an Eater!

This past weekend, Elizabeth had some oatmeal for the first time. It was a big hit! In the next week, we're going to start introducing different veggies and fruits and we have no doubt that she'll have no problem with them...she loves to eat. Every time we eat in front of her, she has to stop whatever she's doing to watch. She's also holding her own bottle!
