Will You Marry Me?

Alex: My dearest Elizabeth, will you marry me? I give you this fish as a sign of my love.
E: A fish? I wanted some bling. I'll have to think about it.
Alex: Come on, E, I'm down on my belly and knees.
E: We all are, so get over yourself!

This weekend was important, Elizabeth met one of her many suitors, Alex (we're still weighing our options since we know a few boys!). He's 2 months younger, but already a big guy. Our friends, Kevin and Maureen, came up for North Carolina to visit friends and we saw them at a cookout. Alex, their son, is so cute and such a gentleman. He's very laid back - much less hyper than yours truly. We'll see what he's into in a couple of months, though!

Look at the camera. Too bad there wasn't a picture of the adults trying to get them both to look and smile! What adults do for a smile, right?

Ok, we took the photo, I'm making my get away. Look at his eyes! Beautiful.

Low Rider

The other weekend we went to the store and found a bike trailer on sale, so we went ahead and bought it. Then, BJ found a helmet for E...it's so darn cute, but a little tough for her to keep her head up with it on! We tested out our new gear, but hopefully after Labor Day we'll go for a real family ride. Heck, if I wasn't over the weight limit, I wouldn't mind BJ towing me around!

Chase

Elizabeth's crawling skills have improved over the last few weeks. In such a short time, she went from the army crawl (which she was really quick with) to getting up on her knees and moving all over the place. Now the challenge is keeping her away from everything. No matter how many toys we have available for her, she still wants to "play" with DVD cases, CD cases, paper towel rolls, shoes and generally anything that isn't "allowed." Just about every day we play chase with her - she loves it!

Hanging with Dad

Just enjoying the scenery while dad does all the work. Look at that view!

Ah, one hand on my biscuit, the other on my sippy.

I'm a happy girl - thanks for taking me on a walk, dad!

Look at My Big Girl Seat!

...someone got their new car seat...their new cowmooflauge seat. What a lucky girl and she looks so happy!

The Truth

Well, since most of you don't have the chance to see the real Elizabeth in action and the blog is the only time you see photos and videos of the little angel, I wanted to be a fair and honest reporter. Dear Grandparents, yes, she does have her moments...

Another Sunday Newspaper

Movin' Movin' Movin'

It's amazing how much her crawling, pulling up and mobility has improved in just a few short days. She learns new tricks every day! Tonight she was really laughing while we were crawling around chasing her.

9:30 Club

Elizabeth was really excited to visit her dad's favorite concert venue...maybe as excited as she was to share her blog with his concert list!

Yap-a-do

Sunday Morning Paper

We have a very advanced baby. She enjoys long walks on the beach (even though she's never been to one yet and doesn't walk quite yet), sunsets (even though she is usually in bed) and reading the Sunday newspaper (baby hooked on phonics worked for E!).

E.R.

"Mom, please, enough with the photos. Just take me to the emergency room already." Do you feel bad for the sick baby? Thank goodness she's better! We had a rough few days.

The Beans?

Bean-Bean, Bizzies Bean. Bean-Bean, Lizzies Bean. Bean-Bean, Bizzies Bean, Lizzies is our darling. This is a little song that we've been singing to E for awhile and it always gets a smile. She's started working on standing and pulling up the last week or so. After a long day at daycare, she always wants to come home and stand up either with us supporting her or on her music table or on one of our little ottomen. We finally got our gate up because before long she's going to be moving quick!

Do Babies and Wine Mix?

One of the women in our moms' group had the idea for the families to visit a local winery together. It was a beautiful afternoon and gave us all a chance to catch up. Sometimes the working moms are on a different schedule, but the weekend meet up was great. Elizabeth had a good time and so did mom and dad...mom even let dad be the DP (designated parent) for the day!
