Summer Concert

This weekend we were able to meet up with our friends for a nice evening of relaxing on the lawn for a summer concert. Elizabeth had a good time dancing and meeting other people (and dogs) in the lawn.

Elizabeth and Grace...notice Grace shared a silly band bracelet with Elizabeth...so cute!

Surprise #2! Happy Birthday, Uncle Greg

The theme of this summer trip was birthday surprise. We were able to attend my big brother's 40th birthday surprise party before leaving Ohio. It was a lot of fun and Elizabeth had a great time following around the pack of kids. We enjoyed all of the good food and seeing a few people we haven't seen in years.

You know you're in trouble when the kids take over the dance floor and the microphone! Elizabeth's cousin Ally had a more polished performance. We'll have to work on that.

The Shoemaker family

We're Riding on the Boat...

We're riding on the boat on the boat
high ho the dairy oh, we're riding on the boat, hey!

We were able to spend some time at the lake with my parents and Elizabeth made herself at home. I think after the first boat ride, she was saying "my big boat." We enjoyed a boat ride almost every day, a visit from our friends Michelle and Keagan (of course I don't think we took a single photo!), dinners with Robin and Jillian, visit with Uncle Greg and lots of treats (including a morning of donuts....the love runs in the family we found out).

Surprise #1: Happy Birthday, Millie!

Even though we were there for a short visit, we found time to picnic, hit the hot chicken festival, swim, have dinner out for Millie's birthday and spend lots of quality time with Elizabeth's cousins. She enjoyed following Jack and Lily around and "helping" with Katherine (aka Baby Kate). Elizabeth is going to be a great big sister and thank you to Baby Kate for letting her practice a little! We were also able to visit with Poppa Paul and Peggy one morning (or as Elizabeth likes to call them Poppa Peggy). I guess we didn't take any pictures there, but we had fun exploring their house and enjoying the newly landscaped backyard. We really do wish we could live closer to family!
