Baby Wars

Elizabeth: Caitlyn, how many times do I have to tell you I'm the boss?
Caitlyn: Apparently a lot because I'm not listening.

Elizabeth: Hey, I'm talking to you (or trying to see what happens when I put my finger in your eyeball).
Caitlyn: I can't hear you...la, la, la and you can't touch me.

Elizabeth: Don't you see I'm in a position of authority (doesn't the thumb sucking give it away)?
Caitlyn: Elizabeth, just give me a fist bump and call it day, alright?

Ain't life grand? Two generations of train buddies.

Sunday Night Football Dinner: Week 3

Arizona = Mexican food. This is our attempt at Mexican food...fajitas. We wanted to have some rattlesnake or cactus, but Safeway was out when we went shopping. BJ cooked the gang up some chicken and beef fajitas. I made some guacamole to hold us over.

Steak/chicken, rice, tomatoes, cheese, peppers, onions, sour cream, taco sauce - oh my.

We found these people on the mean streets of Germantown and felt bad for them so we invited them in for dinner. Correy, Matt and Caitlyn (yes, I still have the touch - C is sleeping in my arms) and our neighbors, Liz (and twin boys still inside), and Jamie.

The Naked Cowbaby

Would you rather see the naked cowboy or the naked cowbaby? I vote for the cowbaby!

Sunday Night Football Dinner: Week 2

Sorry all of you devoted blog readers (mom) - we'll try not to keep you in suspense about the Sunday dinner choices. In honor of the game in Dallas, BJ made some delicious meat-filled chili. Texas style chili does not have beans...or really anything else except ground beef and lots of spices. Although Elizabeth didn't enjoy the meal with us (a 7pm bedtime cuts down on the date nights), she did help up prepare dinner.

Humm...what are the ingredients. I'll have more cayenne pepper, please.

These are a few of my favorite things...

I am very ticklish...especially under my arms and neck. Sometimes my feet, too!

I'm doing a lot of unassisted standing right now. A "step" here and there, but no real walking yet. Any day, though.

I like putting rings of any kind on my arms - the stacking rings, the rings to hang toys. I'm going to love wearing bracelets.

Sunday Night Football Dinner: Week 1

BJ had an idea to bring a little excitement into our menu. Each week, we are going to make a Sunday dinner according to the Sunday night football game home team. For week 1 (much to my dismay), we had brats, sauerkraut and German potato salad (no mayo and served warm/room temperature) for the Green Bay Packers. We all know that the real brat capital of the U.S. is in Ohio, so we should have the brats for Cleveland or Cincy.

I would drive 200,000 miles

BJ is so proud of his car for reaching 200,000 miles without blowing up, that he thought it would be nice to dedicate a blog post to the Silver Bullet. Keep up the good work and maybe we'll let you retire at 400,000 miles.

P.S. - Even though he got rid of it at 180,000 miles, BJ would like to think the Blue Bomber is out there somewhere with about 300,000 miles on it, still going strong. We'll never forget you.

Dear Jackie, Tom, Alex and Baby,

I know you are a Steelers family, but I might be able to overlook that so that we can remain friends.

Hey Roethlisberger - they let me out of my cage...wanna wrestle?

Brunch and Surprises

On our way out of town, we stopped for brunch in Columbus to see Michelle, Jeff and one of E's men, Keagan, and Aaron and Jamie. There were a couple of surprises:

Elizabeth and Keagan were telling secrets - or E was trying to kiss K (don't tell Alex, though)

The ladies and their babies. Keagan looks very interested in E!

And, finally, Elizabeth didn't cry when Aaron held her! Aaron, have you been reading the Baby Whisperer or Happiest Baby on the Block?

Can You Do a Scarecrow?

No, but at least BJ and I both got up on the wakeboard. It was fun watching Drew do his tricks. Thanks for taking us out, Jillian and Drew. When does Elizabeth's training start?

Summer Time in Sweet Home Ohio

Enjoying a story with Grandma

First boat ride...who wouldn't love it with that lifejacket on? Thanks Robin, Jillian and Drew!

Ice cream break on the boat ride.
Hanging out with her cousins, Jacob and Ally.

Visiting with GG (Great Grandma)

Mom, I'm hungry

Maybe we should think about giving the poor girl a bottle once in awhile so she doesn't have to try to steal the doll's bottle. Actually, she was chewing on it more than sucking on it...her top two front teeth are through and the top teeth on either side of those are nearly through as well. From the swelling in her gums, we don't think she's quite done.

Cheddars

Elizabeth was a great traveler for our trip to Ohio. Here she is enjoying some lunch at Cheddars. She's becoming such a ham!
