Ready to Head South

Elizabeth said she's ready to head to Nashville for Christmas...she has the perfect outfit. In the summer, we'll have to cut those jeans off. Here she is showing her muscles!

First bumbo ride

Sarah had her first experience with the bumbo chair now that her neck is getting stronger. She looks pretty good, huh? Hopefully since she doesn't spit up as much as Elizabeth we might get some more use out of the "spit-bo."

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care...

Tubbie Time

Another visitor in Ohio

Michelle, Jeff and Keagan Beard were also nice enough to stop over and visit. Keagan was a little shy, but give it another few months and I'm sure he'll be all about playing chase with Elizabeth from the start.

Christmas in Ohio

We weren't planning to make it to Ohio this year for Christmas, but at the last minute, we ended up going there. BJ had to go to Nashville for a family funeral, so he dropped the girls and me off with my parents so they could help. And what a help it was! I sort of wish they lived with us all the time:) It seems a lot easier when there are 3 adults around to help rather than 2 all the time. My parents got up with Elizabeth every morning, taking her into their bed for about 30 minutes and "talking" and then getting breakfast and cartoons. That gave mommy and Sarah some rest until about 7:30/8am every day. I got spoiled! While we were there, Greg, Jen, Jacob and Ally came to visit. Elizabeth and Ally really hit it off and played so nice all evening.

A hiking we will go...

When Millie was in town visiting, we took an afternoon hike together. We went to a little area about 15 minutes from our house. I'm a little late in posting some photos. It was a great afternoon and perhaps a little bit too difficult for our group now, but we made it. Daddy just carried an extra 25+ pounds for awhile - he needed the workout anyway.

Glamour Shots

Look at our big girl, Sarah - she's almost 2 months old already! Where has the time gone? Sarah is generally a happy baby and gives us lots of smiles. She especially likes smiling at her big sister.

Happy Thanksgiving!

The prep...we cooked and we cooked and we cooked until the house came down. I mean we cooked on and off most of the day to make a Thanksgiving dinner. We sat down about 6pm with the family - daddy, mommy and Elizabeth at the table and Sarah in her swing for a nap. During the day, we not only cooked, but Elizabeth made some placecards with turkeys.

Too much food...I can't take another bite. Someone enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal!

Daddy and his girls

Just a typical weekend morning at the Rohling house.

Daddy, Elizabeth and Sarah before taking mommy out for her birthday dinner. Both girls were on their best behavior and we enjoyed a nice time out together.

Enjoying Fall

Before Millie's visit, Elizabeth was home one day with mommy and Sarah. Fortunately, it was a nice Fall day and we were able to spend snack time on the deck.

Elizabeth was still perfecting her big sister hold. As you can tell, Sarah didn't think it was quite right yet.

A little tighter...Sarah still didn't agree, but Elizabeth loves her anyway.

Sarah was much happier back in her carseat hanging out without her big sister holding her. The girls will be in good shape once Sarah gets that neck strength worked up.

Trick-or-Treat

We debated going trick or treating because it had been a long day for Elizabeth. After dinner, though, we decided that we'd go to a couple of neighbors' houses. Once we went to 2 houses on our street, the phrase became "another neighbor." She had a good time and even had a kit kat to celebrate:)

Sisters

Elizabeth can't get enough of her sister...I'm not sure the feeling is mutual all the time.

Halloween Ballet

Elizabeth's friends, Mary and Grace, invited her as their friend to their ballet class. It was mom's first outing with both girls alone. We made it there on time and home with only minimal crying from Sarah in the car. Elizabeth had a great time and listen really well to the teacher, "Miss Sarah." They walked like mummys, waved their spooky scarfs, frog hopped, marched in a circle, read a story and got treats out of the pumpkin bucket while walking on their tippy toes.

This is a sneak peek at Elizabeth's fairy costume, too!

Happy Birthday, "Doctor Ellie"

For Elizabeth's birthday last Friday, we had dinner followed by some cupcakes. We opened her presents from dad, mom and Sarah. She got a doll doctor kit and now wants us to call her "Doctor Ellie" sometimes. It's so cute...she tells us "cry, and say Doctor Ellie." She likes for us to cry and tell her what's wrong with us so that she can fix it.

Sisters!

Can you tell Elizabeth is enjoying being a big sister? She's always checking on Sarah and wants to hold her, kiss her and just be close to her.

Big Girl Bed

We're probably nuts to make a change like this right now, but we decided to get rid of the crib and move Elizabeth to a big girl bed. Grandma and grandpa brought a set out for her, so after they left, we put it in her room. We're having some problems at night getting her to go down, but she's sleeping through the night with no problems. First, she was scared of a giant and now this week it's a mosquito! Who knows what will be next.
