Halloween Ballet

Elizabeth's friends, Mary and Grace, invited her as their friend to their ballet class. It was mom's first outing with both girls alone. We made it there on time and home with only minimal crying from Sarah in the car. Elizabeth had a great time and listen really well to the teacher, "Miss Sarah." They walked like mummys, waved their spooky scarfs, frog hopped, marched in a circle, read a story and got treats out of the pumpkin bucket while walking on their tippy toes.

This is a sneak peek at Elizabeth's fairy costume, too!

Happy Birthday, "Doctor Ellie"

For Elizabeth's birthday last Friday, we had dinner followed by some cupcakes. We opened her presents from dad, mom and Sarah. She got a doll doctor kit and now wants us to call her "Doctor Ellie" sometimes. It's so cute...she tells us "cry, and say Doctor Ellie." She likes for us to cry and tell her what's wrong with us so that she can fix it.

Sisters!

Can you tell Elizabeth is enjoying being a big sister? She's always checking on Sarah and wants to hold her, kiss her and just be close to her.

Big Girl Bed

We're probably nuts to make a change like this right now, but we decided to get rid of the crib and move Elizabeth to a big girl bed. Grandma and grandpa brought a set out for her, so after they left, we put it in her room. We're having some problems at night getting her to go down, but she's sleeping through the night with no problems. First, she was scared of a giant and now this week it's a mosquito! Who knows what will be next.

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

Thank goodness our families are able to visit us and help out after the arrival of Sarah. Once my parents learned my water broke (at 4:30am), they hit the road from Ohio. We were so grateful that a couple of local friends were able to help out with Elizabeth before my parents arrived (thank you Lauren and Jen!). Every morning, my parents were up with Elizabeth and fed her breakfast so that BJ and I could catch up on our sleep from the night before. Fortunately, Sarah is a better sleeper than her sister...still a newborn, but much better than Elizabeth. Next up,
Millie is on her way next week for a visit!

Meet Sarah Adele

On October 3rd, we welcomed a new family member, Sarah Adele. You might be curious where the name came from...well, Sarah is a family name (on both sides) and Adele has connections to the Marianists, the religious community that runs the University of Dayton where BJ and I both went. Elizabeth was super excited to meet her sister and continues to be a great big sister.
