Circus Acts in Training

We've got the girls practicing their circus acts...Elizabeth is going to be a mime. We're letting her use a box to practice the box skit. Sarah is going to be a trapeze artist...now if only she could reach up and start swinging from that play gym.

Sisters, Sisters: There were never such devoted sisters

You might think it's easier to get a 2-year-old to smile than a 6-month-old. Not the case in our family. Today, Mary (our daycare woman) said that in her 27 years of having her daycare, she hasn't known a more easy going and happy baby. Sarah is super sweet and loves to smile and laugh. Now if only we could get her sleeping through the night better:) The two wakings a night have got to go! Tonight on the way home from daycare, Elizabeth was correcting my pronunciation of "carrots" tonight. Glad my 2-year-old thinks I have some kind of accent or something.

Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir,
I'm there to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man

- From White Christmas (if you've never seen the Ensminger sisters perform this, ask them the next time you soon them!)

Long Day

Some days when Sarah comes home from daycare, I wonder what her day was like because she looks like it was a long day. I think it wears her out to watch all of the bigger kids moving around. Last night she needed to relax on daddy a little. Of course Elizabeth is right there with her little sister.

Sarah is getting really good at rolling over both ways. She's also working on sitting up. She can't do it unsupported, but soon. She's still spitting up, but hopefully that will stop once she's sitting up more on her own like it did for her big sister. Last night BJ had a nice carrot/peach spit up surprise on his shirt. Ah, the joys of parenting.

Naked and the Brain

Whose Toes are Those?

For some reason Elizabeth hates having her toenails clipped. No problem with the fingernails, but something about the toes makes her squirm. She'll learn that a nice pedicure is a luxury.

WWE World Wrestling Elizabeth

Elizabeth loves rough housing around. She's not afraid of too many things (well, except for the shaky bridge last weekend at the playground for some reason...oh, and shadows...oh, and sometimes she mentions the forte giant from Little Einsteins and mosquito from her Hush Baby book). She's not afraid of physical contact and will take anyone on - she's tough. Yesterday she came home from daycare and I asked her how her day was and the response was "Good. I didn't push anyone. I didn't have any timeouts." Guess that's a good thing, but maybe not so good that she's proud of herself for not pushing. Maybe we're raising a cute, little bully.

Luck of the Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day from a couple of leprechauns...

Shredded Chicken

This is Elizabeth's first experience with a shredded chicken sandwich. Elizabeth's had cheese which is a variation, but she still liked it. For anyone who is ever traveling through Central Ohio and wants to try one, you have to get it at Miller's Drive In...with a homemade rootbeer and some fries or onion rings. I'm drooling just thinking about it. For those readers not from central Ohio, here is a little more information

Dance Party in the USA

 Girls just wanna have fun

...and then the party took a strange turn...is this what it's going to be like at the beach with the Camaliers? Don't worry, the adults kept their shirts and pants/dresses on!

Look who's 5 months old!

Peas = Fail

Someone really doesn't seem to like peas. This was complete with gagging and more faces. I think she's asking "now what did you crazy people put in my mouth?"
